Day 69-Day after Election Day

Due to the time difference, Stella and I could not keep up

with the election results in realtime (we are six hours ahead).

So this is what we woke up to this morning on CNN.

Day 68

This picture is an area next to Plaza de Armas bus station.

Sevilla has a lot of good graffiti artists and there are many

parts of the city that has a lot of good works. This one

if you look closely has the Godfather in it.

This is Calle Betis, one of the most famous streets in

Seville. It overlooks the Guadalquivir River. Yoni and Eric,

if you are looking at this, perhaps you can spot your piso from

last year.

Day 67

This is the other side of the same street, Avenida de la Constitucion.

The building to the far right is the most expensive hotel in Sevilla.

Madonna stayed there a few weeks ago when she came through on her

world tour. They said she had an entourage of about 30-40 people.

The name of the hotel is Alfonso XIII.

Random construction crane next to Plaza Nueva. I had a good friend

in undergrad named Hollon who used to photograph

construction vehicles. I can't take full credit for this one.

This is the street that we live on and also, the title of

Stella's blog which I will plug once again: miguelcid31.blogspot.com

We live on the right side of this street. At the end of Miguel Cid

is an amazing bakery that bakes fresh bread and pastries from

9-3 everyday. The lady that works there is pretty nice too.

The weather today here in Sevilla (Note: Spanish spelling of our city

is Sevilla. The English spelling is Seville).

It's a kind of day where you shouldn't stay inside. Stella

and I went and had tapas and coffee at one of our favorite

tapas bars called Las Lapas. I also shot some photos this morning, the ones

posted above, and I skated some too. Another good thing

about this city is the fact that it's very flat and lots of smooth

ground. Perfect to push around on.

Spanish Phrase of the day:

"Dejate los mocos." = stop picking your boogers.

Day 66 pt.2

I've been interested in panoramic photos for a long time. So for the past few weeks I've been making some of my own. Panoramic photos are interesting in that it allows you to see areas in your peripheral vision that you cannot normally see at once, all at once. Sometimes you can see up to 360 degrees or however much the photographer wants to include. In the photo below, I've shot the city center (Avenida de la Constitucion, Plaza Nueva, City Hall, Plaza San Fransico) and put them all together in one shot using Photoshop. This shot is almost 360 degrees.

Hola Amigos! (Yes, my Spanish still sucks). This is my first entry.

Stella and I are doing great as you can see below.

We've made some new friends.

And we've seen some crazy things. How often do you see this at your local grocery store?

These are pig legs aka jamon (pronounced ha-moan).

Jamon = Spanish people as Kimchi = Korean people.

We've been in Sevilla, Spain for almost two months and we've seen, done, and eaten a lot since we arrived. But I am not a writer and so I will be sharing with you more visually than verbally.
